Volunteering

When everybody helps a little bit, big things get done.
If you are interested in volunteering in the school, please call the school at 416-394-7590 or complete this form (PDF) and return it to the school office.
Valleyfield Parent Involvement Program
In order to Maximize Parent Involvement in our school, we invite you to join and become one of our parent representatives in our school. Your role as a parent in this program is to participate inside the classroom and/or with the school’s ongoing activities throughout the year. Please do understand that YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED to come to the school everyday to be a Valleyfield Parent Representative.

What's in it for you:
  • meet your child's friends
  • gain work experience (build your resume!)
  • build relationships with other parents
  • build relationships with school staff
  • help the class
  • help the school
  • help other children
  • learn about different cultures in our community
  • teach our school community about your culture

How you could help:
  • participate in school council meetings (~monthly)
  • helping the Teacher/Students with some classroom activities
  • helping with lunch recess on the playground (11:15 – 12:15).
  • translate flyers sent home by the school into your native language (to bridge the Literacy and the language barrier gap in our school community)
  • prepare and serve the lunch on Fridays
  • particpate in the planning / organization / communication / promotion or execution of fundraising activities for our school
  • by assisting in the school library
  • Home Administration – eg. stapling letters / stuffing envelopes for an upcoming fundraiser etc.
  • spread the word about fundraising events or community events (by word of mouth, e-mail or distributing pamphelts or flyers within your community)
